Yesssurrrrrr Big Rela and Vice Gripp will be performing this Thursday @ Insomnia Lounge in Pembroke Pines, located right on the corner of Flamingo Rd and Pembroke Road. Hosted by Dashius Clay and Ottey of  1Life Entertainment, Insomnia Lounge is the ONLY real-deal open mic opportunity in Southwest Broward to showcase ya skills and promote yourself as an artist. Come show love!!! We will be performing joints from Theory of Relativity and Entering Broward County Vol. 2!!

4 hours till take off….its time to go!!!

This was my first time at the Black Sheep Bar and the venue is on point for close up performances. (not to mention they are one of the few sopots on the beach that still got Heinkens under 8 dollars which is fucking KEY!)

The night started out with tracks from your favorite dead artists held down by DJ Annonomys….I haven’t heard “Players Anthem” on speakers that big since 97, shit was awesome…This is where I gotta stop and give the homie Cynic his props cause he actually had some friendly lil mamas moving to your favorite joints from back in the day…Not to hurt nobody feelings but most of the parties I’ve been to that try to pull this vibe off wind up with a bunch mad rapper types wondering “Where the bitches at?”…..Tightwork Cynic

The show started off with LMS tearing through the NWO. His set was more mellow than what im used to hearing from him but still quality LMS none the less. Buddy even dropped a new joint called “Population Control” produced by The Alienz that definatly caught everybodies ear. The highlght of the set though was the a capella hip hop eulogy. If you havent seen this man live yet, what are you really doing with your life?

Alukard came through and definatly did not disappoint…The highlight of these bois rowdy set came when lead guitarist and rock star in the making Level ventured out into the crowd to recieve a lil lip action from a few of the ladies WHILE playing….pimp shit.

Saheed was in the building…Dude is one of the few rappers down here that when I see his name on the flyer and I can make it out to the joint, I’m there. Buddies flow and lyrical content is nutz, and hes YOUNG, I cant wait to hear what dude is gonna be doing in 6 years. This show wasn’t the best to catch the young beast at though…starting with his set the the sound was offically on some fuckshit! The best was Saheed telling Annonmys to turn the beat up to which he replied ” you gotta bring it then”, which led to Saheed doing just that. Saheed also annouced the new project he’s working on with DJ R&R of GasfaceFilms, which if your familiar with R&R’s work, you know this joint will be a MONSTER!

Swazy Stylez and Nonsence also came through, Swazy was the only one of the two to take the floor though. Buddy held it down something serious, but this line up of emcees didn’t really match that Swazy vibe so something was lost. Buddy always perfroms like he’s doing an arena but the energy from the rest of the room just wasnt there. I got a hold of his new single….more on that later.

On a night where everybody seemed to be laying Hip Hop to rest I was able to witness the resurrection of First Platoon now known as NHL….pronounced “inhale” because they bringing a breath of fresh air to the Miami scene…I got a chance to get up with Louie and he’s gonna be hittin Psykosouth.com up with some exclusive content a lil later…

All in all it was a great Friday night on South Beach.

I just wanted to inform you about the 1st of a monthly event we are coordinating May 3rd at PS14 in Downtown Miami. It is an all Ages community event , pieced together by the Miami Hip Hop scene.

We are leaving the heavy business networking at home, and coming out to enjoy some good vibes where even the kids can come out and interact with the local scene. Activities include: Chess mentoring and Competition, Dominoes, Card Games, Open Mic session, B-Boy Circle, Special guest performances and food. Its about time the Miami Hip Hop communities re-unites to the basics of having fun with what they do. We aren’t looking to sensationalize this event, but more to provide an opportunity to those seeking an outlet, such as those juniors and senior high school students, and even college students under 21 who don’t always have a venue they can attend. So I invite you to attend .

Hip Hop? Hard Rock? In 20009? naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah…

Its was not a dream… Cynic (A-Ha Events) put together a vibin line up for Automatic Slims Hard Rock Thursday night. When you think about hip hop performances Slims isnt the first, second, or third venue that comes to mind, but artists held the room DOWN!

The night opened up with Alukard, a Miami band I always hear brought up when I’m in Dade. They’re that crew that people look at you all types of funny when you dont know who they are….and now I know why. Its hard to really put these bois set into words, but the thing that really burned its way into my Dutch Master and krypie graveyard of a memory was the Joe Perry and Steven Tyler-esque chemistry that eGrizzly and Level share.

The next act to take the floor was The Cornerstoners. This was also my first time seeing this group live and their set was as mellow as their name implys. Vocalist Lai-Si and emcee Michelangelo complement each other very well over the bands hip hop fusion vibe. I gotta go catch them again at a grimier joint cause all I wanted to do was spark the blunt I had in my pocket while they were on!

Other highlights include the gorgeous shot girl shaking her ass off all night slanging them pink shots of something…You gotta holla at Dirt Daniels if you wanna know whats in that bottle lol. There was also the inevitable party of 4 slender white girls celebrating a birthday (woooooo yeah Becka!) by doing their best impression of sexy on the bar….Thankfully a random Ms. Fat Booty, who when asked her name wished to only be refereed as Mizz Thickness, was drunk enough to take insult to this and hopped on the bar to perform the type of gyrations that only a shorty named Mizz Thickness could.

All in all the night was striaght as fuck and I’m definatly going back…If not for the dope musicians and shot girls its gonna be the Scandnavian tourists erratic dance moves. Classic!

COME OUT, PARTY LIKE A PSYKO APRIL 24.

This is a pretty nice spot we did a show at last month. RoK Hard has good drink prices and a dope atmosphere. The stage features two stripper poles that the shot girls frequent (which is niice). Cover is gonna be $10 for the fellas, I’m pretty sure the ladies will be in free all night, but we have to confirm that with the promoters. We will have more info for you leading up to the show. For now, mark the date and bring your squad!
